Placements24 is seeking a sharp and analytical Risk Analyst to join our growing team. The role focuses on the insurance portfolio, developing models and delivering strategic recommendations to senior management.

You will work remotely supporting clients in the Welkom area, requiring strong quantitative skills, data analysis, and effective communication to drive risk mitigations and protect profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.
• Minimum 4 years in risk analysis, financial modeling, or related role within insurance/financial services.
• Proficiency in R, Python, SAS and advanced Excel.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quantitative risk models to assess portfolio risks (market, credit, operational).
• Analyze large datasets to identify risk exposures, anomalies, and trends in the insurance portfolio.
• Prepare risk reports and presentations for senior management with findings and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and claims to ensure integrated risk management.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with risk management frameworks.
• Contribute to development and refinement of risk management policies and procedures.
