Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Remote Insurance Data Analyst in South Africa. You will manipulate large datasets, develop dashboards, and build predictive models to inform risk and market decisions.

The role requires 3+ years of analytics experience in insurance/financial services, strong skills in SQL and Python/R, and experience with Tableau or Power BI. This is a fully remote position with a data-driven, remote-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Economics or related).
• 3+ years of Data Analyst experience in insurance/financial services preferred.
• Proficient in SQL, Python (Pandas/NumPy) or R.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
• Strong statistical modeling, ML basics, and data mining knowledge.
• Attention to detail; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform large datasets from insurance operations.
• Perform complex data analysis using statistical methods and data mining techniques.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs and trends.
• Identify patterns, anomalies, and correlations to uncover actionable insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
• Build predictive models to forecast trends in claims and behavior.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across outputs.
• Develop data quality checks and validation processes.
• Stay updated on trends in data analytics and BI.
• Present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
