Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Remote Insurance Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies within the insurance sector. This fully remote role offers flexibility while maintaining high ethical standards.

You will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs, track changes in SA insurance regulations, conduct audits, train staff, and liaise with regulators and auditors to uphold the company's integrity.

Qualifications

• Law degree or demonstrable compliance, risk, or auditing experience in financial services or insurance.
• In-depth knowledge of SA insurance regulations (FAIS Act, Insurance Act).
• Ability to interpret complex legal documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies.
• Monitor changes in insurance laws and regulations at national and provincial levels, assessing their impact.
• Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance vulnerabilities.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on compliance matters and ethical conduct.
• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.
