Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Information Security Specialist to join a distributed team, supporting operations primarily in Richards Bay. You will monitor security, analyze threats, and respond to incidents from a home office in a fully remote setup.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in information security, familiarity with SIEM, and strong communication for remote collaboration. A Security+ or CySA+ certification is advantageous, and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3+ years in information security with threat detection/analysis experience.
• Familiarity with SIEM, network security, and attack vectors; security certifications are a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and networks for threats and breaches using security tools.
• Analyze security logs and alerts, identify suspicious activity, and initiate response actions.
• Assist in development and implementation of security policies for remote work environments.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scanning and reporting, collaborating with IT for remediation.
• Participate in security awareness training programs for employees across locations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of security infrastructure and incident response capabilities.
