Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Engineer for a fully remote position, supporting operations near Upington. You will design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, deploy security technologies, and respond to threats to safeguard digital assets.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in information security engineering or operations, hands-on experience with network security, SIEM, cloud security, and a collaborative mindset suitable for remote teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in information security engineering or operations.
• Hands-on with network security technologies.
• Familiar with SIEM, endpoint security, and vulnerability management tools.
• Understanding of cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage security solutions (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security).
• Monitor security systems and networks for suspicious activity, analyzing logs and alerts.
• Respond to security incidents with initial triage, containment, and escalation.
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of security tools and platforms.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to integrate security into system design and operations.
