Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join our team on a remote-friendly basis from Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on monitoring security systems, analyzing threats, and coordinating incident response to protect information assets.

You’ll work with SIEM, firewalls, and IDS/IPS, with occasional on-site visits required. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in information security, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity, CS or related.
• 2–4 years in information security.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools and techniques.
• Understanding of networking, OS, and common threats.
• Knowledge of security best practices and frameworks.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS) for suspicious activity.
• Analyze security alerts to identify threats.
• Respond to incidents, investigate root cause, contain and remediate.
• Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments.
• Assist in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures.
• Support security awareness training for employees.
• Stay informed about cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to apply security best practices.
• Document security incidents and audit findings.
