Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote Information Security Officer to lead our security program and protect digital assets across the organization. You will define policies, oversee controls, and drive incident response in a fully distributed team.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in information security governance, strong communication, and deep knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST frameworks, with a proven ability to work autonomously from any location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in information security management and governance.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective security policies and procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
• Strong understanding of risk management, compliance, and incident response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce information security policies, standards, and guidelines across the organization.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security controls and technologies to protect data and systems.
• Manage and coordinate incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Conduct regular security awareness training for all employees to foster a security-conscious culture.
• Perform regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Advise management on emerging security risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies and investments.
