Placements24 is seeking a Remote Infection Control Specialist to bolster hygiene initiatives nationwide in South Africa. Develops and oversees infection prevention strategies across healthcare facilities, businesses, and public institutions, advising on best practices and conducting virtual assessments.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in a health field, CIC certification preferred, and 7+ years in infection control; strong remote communication and data analysis skills are essential

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a health-related field is required.
• 7+ years of experience in infection control and prevention, with policy development.
• CIC certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong remote communication and data analysis skills are essential.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update infection control policies in line with evidence and regulations.
• Provide remote expert guidance on infection prevention to facilities nationwide.
• Conduct virtual risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and actions.
• Analyze epidemiological data to monitor infection trends and outbreaks.
• Design and deliver virtual training on infection control, hand hygiene, and PPE.
• Stay updated with guidelines and technologies in infection control and public health.
• Collaborate with public health officials and facility managers to ensure safety measures.
• Prepare detailed reports on infection control activities and recommendations for senior management.
• Respond to infection control queries and emergencies remotely.
• Ensure compliance with national and international health regulations and standards.
