About the Role

Our client, a leading global consultancy firm specializing in industrial process improvement, is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Remote Industrial Engineering Consultant to join their virtual team. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for advising a diverse range of clients on optimizing their manufacturing and operational processes, implementing lean methodologies, and driving efficiency gains. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to deliver impactful solutions to complex business challenges. This position requires a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage projects independently while collaborating effectively with remote teams and client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of client operations to identify areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement.
• Develop and present detailed project proposals and strategic recommendations to clients.
• Design, implement, and monitor optimized production processes, workflows, and systems.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to solve client challenges.
• Utilize data analysis, simulation, and modeling tools to support recommendations and predict outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions for client teams on best practices in industrial engineering.
• Manage client relationships and project timelines effectively in a remote setting.
• Collaborate with internal and client-side teams to ensure successful project execution and adoption of recommendations.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions in industrial engineering.
• Prepare comprehensive project reports and performance metrics for client review.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant portion in consulting or advisory roles.
• Demonstrated success in delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, cost savings, and productivity for clients.
• Expertise in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt certification highly preferred), process mapping, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and advanced data analytics tools.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and thrive in a remote work environment.
• Strong client management and interpersonal skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa and possess reliable remote work infrastructure.
