Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing production processes, supply chains, and operational workflows to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement advanced optimization strategies, including lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and simulation modeling.
• Design and propose new operational layouts, workflows, and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality assurance, and management, to gather data and implement solutions.
• Create detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
• Utilize data analytics and statistical tools to track performance, measure the impact of implemented changes, and provide actionable insights.
• Manage and lead engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in industrial engineering and technology to continuously innovate.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and operational efficiency.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvement initiatives that resulted in measurable cost savings and productivity gains.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPSS), and CAD software.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, especially in a remote setting.
• Strong project management skills, with experience in leading and managing projects.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
