Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer in Upington to advance automated systems supporting manufacturing processes. You will design, implement, and maintain PLC/SCADA-based control solutions, and troubleshoot robotic systems to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.

The role requires a strong background in automation, robotics, and control systems, with a track record in delivering reliable industrial solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens/Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA.
• Experience with robotics (FANUC/KUKA) and motion control.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control theory.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated control systems for manufacturing processes using PLCs, SCADA, and HMI.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot robotic systems and other automated machinery.
• Analyze system performance and implement upgrades to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define automation requirements and integrate new systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics and code.
