Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks a highly skilled Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automated solutions for manufacturing processes, working fully remotely. You will leverage PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), robotics (FANUC, ABB), and system integration to optimize complex industrial systems, while collaborating with on-site teams through digital tools.

Excellent documentation, remote troubleshooting ability, and a focus on safety and reliability complete the role

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Proven automation engineering experience including PLC programming and robotics.
Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, and actuators.
Experience with system integration and manufacturing network protocols.
Ability to analyze complex problems and develop remote automation solutions.
Excellent documentation and virtual communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automated control systems using PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
Program and troubleshoot industrial robots and robotic work cells.
Integrate various automated equipment and systems into cohesive production lines.
Develop and maintain documentation for automation projects, including P&IDs and FDS.
Conduct remote troubleshooting and provide technical support for existing systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation projects.
