Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote HR Generalist with a strong focus on Employee Relations. You will act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, addressing concerns, mediating disputes, and ensuring fair HR policy application from a remote setup.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in HR with deep SA labour law knowledge (LRA, BCEA, EEA), strong investigations, and excellent communication skills suitable for remote work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, psychology, law or related field.
• Minimum 5 years HR experience focused on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of SA labour law (LRA, BCEA, EEA) and dispute resolution.
• Excellent investigative, mediation and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong communication, analytical and remote-work capabilities.

About the Role

In this fully remote role, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive and constructive work environment by proactively addressing employee concerns, mediating disputes, and ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies. You will serve as a trusted advisor to both employees and management, providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters. This position requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of labour law, and the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion, all from a remote setup.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflicts.
• Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints and policy violations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, with a significant focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labour law (LRA, BCEA, EEA) and dispute resolution processes.
• Exceptional investigation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively remotely.
