Placements24 is seeking a Head Pastry Chef for a luxury events and hospitality group. This fully remote role leads a world-class pastry operation, crafting desserts, showpieces, and baked goods for high-profile events.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in pastry, with 5+ in leadership, and excels at remote team leadership, cost control, and innovative presentation. Occasional in-person checks may be required near Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in pastry arts with 5+ years in leadership in luxury settings.
• Mastery in baking, pastry, and chocolate work with artistic eye.
• Proven remote team leadership and collaboration.
• Ability to manage food costing, inventory, and supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute high-end pastries, desserts, breads, and confections.
• Lead and mentor a remote team of pastry chefs and bakers.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
• Develop and cost recipes, ensuring profitability with premium ingredients.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and event planners on dessert menus.
• Stay updated on global pastry trends and ingredients.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and remote oversight compliance.
• Manage pastry inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships.
• Contribute ideas for new product development and menu enhancements.
