Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Grid Modernization Engineer to join a remote team focused on upgrading energy distribution networks. You will design and deploy smart grid solutions that boost reliability, efficiency, and sustainability, integrating renewable sources and modern communication protocols.

You will collaborate with utilities and tech vendors to implement AMI, DMS, and SCADA upgrades, while ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
Minimum 6 years in power systems engineering, with at least 3 focused on grid modernization.
Experience with smart grid technologies, data analytics, and utility operations.
Familiarity with DNP3 and Modbus communications protocols.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies for smart grid technologies, including AMI, DMS, and SCADA systems.
Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and modernization.
Design and specify hardware and software solutions for grid automation and control.
Collaborate with utility partners and technology vendors to integrate new systems.
Ensure modernization efforts comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to grid modernization projects.
