Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Director of Logistics and Distribution for a fully remote, South Africa–based leadership role. The candidate will design and optimize a global distribution network, oversee warehousing, transport, and inventory, and drive performance improvements across a multinational operation.

The role requires a Master’s in Supply Chain Management and 12+ years in logistics with 7+ in a senior leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in logistics/distribution with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role
• Experience designing and managing global distribution networks
• Strong knowledge of warehousing, transportation, inventory, and international trade compliance
• Proven leadership of remote, geographically dispersed teams
• Ability to travel internationally as required

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive logistics and distribution strategies globally
• Oversee end-to-end warehousing, transportation, and inventory across the network
• Drive cost optimization and service improvement through innovation and processes
• Lead and mentor a multi-site, remote workforce
• Establish KPIs and monitor performance with corrective actions
• Select logistics partners and technology providers to optimize service and cost
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations and safety standards
• Manage departmental budgets and forecast resources
• Foster collaboration with Sales, IT and Operations for integrated supply chain
• Champion adoption of advanced logistics tech and data analytics
