Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Geochemical Analyst to join a global team. The role involves analyzing oil, gas, and rock samples to understand origin, migration, and maturity, using GC-MS, LC-MS, and Rock-Eval. You will collaborate with international teams, interpret results, and support exploration strategies from a fully remote setup.

The position requires a Master's or Ph.D. in organic geochemistry or related field and at least 5 years of geochemical analysis experience in the oil & gas

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Organic Geochemistry, Chemistry, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in geochemical analysis within Oil & Gas or related scientific industries.
• Proven experience with GC-MS, biomarkers, isotopic analysis, Rock-Eval.
• Familiarity with geochemical software and database management.
• Strong understanding of petroleum systems analysis and source-to-sink concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze geochemical data from oil, gas, rock extracts, and bitumen using techniques like GC-MS, LC-MS, Rock-Eval, and isotopes.
• Interpret results to determine source rock characteristics and thermal maturity.
• Assess oil-gas correlations and migration pathways within basins.
• Contribute to petroleum systems models and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to integrate geochemical data into projects.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
