Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a creative Curriculum Developer specializing in the Foundation Phase (Grades R-3) for a remote role based in South Africa. You will design and develop engaging learning materials aligned to national standards, collaborating with subject matter experts and educational designers.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Education and at least 4 years in teaching Foundation Phase or curriculum development, with a strong grasp of child development and evidence of a portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, specializing in Foundation Phase teaching, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in teaching Foundation Phase or developing curriculum for this age group.
• Strong understanding of child development, learning theories, and pedagogical approaches for early learners.
• Proven experience in curriculum design and development, with a portfolio of relevant work.

Responsibilities

• Design and revise curriculum frameworks, lesson plans, and learning materials for Foundation Phase (Grades R-3).
• Align curriculum content with national standards and best practices in early childhood education.
• Create engaging, interactive learning experiences including play-based methods.
• Develop assessment tools to measure student progress and outcomes.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, illustrators, and designers to produce high-quality resources.
• Research current trends to inform curriculum development.
• Pilot and evaluate new materials, gather feedback for improvement.
• Maintain coherence across all curriculum components.
• Maintain project documentation and contribute to knowledge base.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and collaborative development processes.
