Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Central Authorization Specialist to verify health insurance information and obtain authorizations, pre-certifications and referrals for inpatient, observation and scheduled outpatient services. This full-time remote position requires on-site training in Clearwater, FL for 7 business days, after which the schedule becomes M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

You will support patients, clinical teams, physicians, and the BayCare central business office, using Soarian/GE systems and payer

Qualifications

• 1 year of Insurance Verification and Authorization Retrieval or Referrals is required.
• 1 year of Health Insurance Website experience is required.
• 1 year of Healthcare Business Office and/or Managed Care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify health insurance information and obtain authorizations, pre-certifications and/or referrals.
• Assist patients, clinical teams, physicians and staff with information and processes for timely approvals.
