About the Role

Our client, a leading national logistics provider, is seeking an innovative Remote Fleet Telematics & Optimization Specialist to join their forward-thinking team. This fully remote position requires an individual with a strong analytical mindset and expertise in leveraging telematics data to enhance fleet performance, safety, and efficiency across the entire organization. You will be responsible for implementing and managing telematics systems, analyzing vast amounts of data to identify trends, optimizing vehicle utilization, improving fuel efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. As a remote specialist, you will collaborate closely with fleet managers, IT departments, and operations teams nationwide to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a technically proficient professional who thrives in a remote work environment and is passionate about optimizing complex logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and manage fleet telematics systems and related software platforms.
• Analyze telematics data (e.g., GPS tracking, engine diagnostics, driver behavior, fuel consumption) to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
• Develop and execute strategies to optimize vehicle routes, reduce mileage, and improve fuel efficiency.
• Monitor driver behavior through telematics data and implement coaching programs to enhance safety and compliance.
• Generate regular reports and dashboards for management, highlighting fleet performance, trends, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in telematics technology and fleet management best practices.
• Assist in the development and implementation of fleet maintenance programs based on telematics insights.
• Support fleet managers in troubleshooting telematics system issues and user training.
• Contribute to the overall strategic planning for fleet modernization and optimization.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, telematics analysis, data science, or a related field within the transportation industry.
• Proven expertise in analyzing large datasets from telematics systems.
• Strong understanding of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, and logistics optimization principles.
• Proficiency with various telematics platforms (e.g., Geotab, Samsara, Verizon Connect) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Logistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience with route optimization software is a plus.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., HOS) is advantageous.
