Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Fleet Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and safety standards across a nationwide fleet. This fully remote role focuses on monitoring, evaluating, and advising on compliance related to vehicle safety, driver regulations, environmental standards, and transportation laws in South Africa.

The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of SA transport legislation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate

Qualifications

• Experience in fleet compliance, safety management, or a regulatory role.
• Knowledge of South African transport legislation including AARTO and National Road Traffic Act.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with audits and developing compliance programs.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
• Experience with fleet management software is a plus.
• Reliable internet connection and home office setup.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with national and provincial transportation regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain fleet safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits of fleet operations, driver records, and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Investigate and report safety incidents or non-compliance issues.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and authorities as required.
• Provide guidance and training to operational staff and drivers on compliance matters.
• Stay updated on changes in transportation laws and regulations and advise the company accordingly.
• Manage and maintain all compliance-related documentation.
• Assist in developing risk management strategies for fleet operations.
• Foster a strong safety and compliance culture throughout the organization.
