• Admitted Attorney or Advocate with 8+ years post-qualification experience in financial services law.
• Expertise in financial regulation, corporate law, M&A, and complex commercial contracting.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial services legislation and regulatory bodies.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication abilities, with strong presentation skills.
• Proven ability to lead legal initiatives and work autonomously in a remote environment.
• Experience in managing external legal counsel effectively.
• Strong leadership potential and a collaborative spirit.
• Proficiency in advanced legal research tools and technologies.
• High degree of professional integrity and ethical conduct.

Responsabilidades

• Provide strategic legal advice on financial regulations, capital markets, and corporate finance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate sophisticated financial agreements, transaction documents, and partnership contracts.
• Oversee and manage compliance with all relevant South African financial laws and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FSCA, SARB).
• Lead and manage legal aspects of complex corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis, providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Develop and implement robust legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
• Manage and oversee external counsel in litigation and specialized matters.
• Advise on employment law and other operational legal requirements.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and risk management of the organization.
• Mentor and guide junior members of the legal team in a virtual setting.
