Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Remote Fintech Operations Manager to optimize workflows and lead distributed teams from anywhere in South Africa. The role focuses on operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of fintech services across a global client base.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, and support teams, ensure adherence to POPIA/FAIS, and implement KPI-driven improvements in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years in operations management, Fintech/financial services preferred.
• Proven experience managing remote teams.
• Strong understanding of financial technology, payment systems, and digital banking.
• Data-driven decision making and KPI tracking.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operational activities of the Fintech platform, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to support growth and objectives.
• Lead and mentor a remote-based operations team, fostering high performance.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, FAIS).
• Monitor KPIs and implement data-driven improvements to service quality.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
• Drive process automation and optimization initiatives in operations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer support to resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and operational documentation.
• Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting for operations.
