Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist for a fully remote role focused on the financial services sector. You will build predictive models, perform advanced analytics, and drive data-driven decision-making across cross-functional teams in a remote setting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of ML/DS projects, expertise in Python or R with ML libraries, and hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong project portfolio, preferably in financial services.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, ML techniques, and experimental design.
• Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement ML models for financial forecasting, risk assessment, and fraud detection.
• Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from various sources for analysis.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and insights.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define DS requirements.
• Communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay current with advances in data science and financial technologies.
