Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications in fiber optics are essential.
• Proven experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
• Proficiency in fiber optic splicing techniques and the use of related equipment.
• Experience with fiber optic testing equipment (OTDR, power meters, etc.) and interpreting test results.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic cable types, connectors, and network architectures.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate records in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in various environments (e.g., aerial, underground, indoor).
• Perform testing and certification of fiber optic links using OTDR, optical power meters, and other specialized equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network faults to restore service promptly.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fiber optic infrastructure.
• Ensure all work is performed according to industry standards and company safety procedures.
• Document network installations, test results, and repair activities accurately.
