About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly specialized Fiber Optic Network Specialist to join their remote team, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced fiber optic networks. This position is critical for ensuring the seamless delivery of high-speed internet and telecommunications services. You will leverage your deep expertise in fiber optics to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize network performance, and contribute to the deployment of new infrastructure. The role demands a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively within a distributed team, shaping the future of connectivity for our client's customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan fiber optic network layouts, including conduit routes, splicing plans, and termination points.
• Install, test, and commission fiber optic cables, connectors, and associated equipment.
• Perform fusion splicing and mechanical splicing of fiber optic strands with high precision.
• Utilize optical time-domain reflectometers (OTDR) and other testing equipment to diagnose faults and measure network performance.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the fiber optic infrastructure to ensure optimal condition.
• Document network configurations, test results, and maintenance activities accurately.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fiber optic network installation, testing, and maintenance.
• Proficiency with fiber optic testing equipment, including OTDR, VFL, and power meters.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic principles, cable types, and connector standards.
• Experience with splicing techniques (fusion and mechanical).
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and technical specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
