Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Family Support Specialist to provide remote assistance to families in Vereeniging and surrounding areas. The role focuses on empowering families by offering guidance, resources, and support to navigate life challenges, through virtual assessments, counseling, and linkage to community services.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, at least 3 years of experience, and proficiency with online platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in family support or counseling.
• Proficiency with virtual communication platforms for client interaction and case management.
• Strong understanding of family dynamics and child development.
• Excellent active listening, empathy and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a caseload remotely.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual counseling and support services to families.
• Conduct remote needs assessments to identify strengths and challenges.
• Develop and implement tailored family support plans with families.
• Connect families with community resources (childcare, education, health services).
• Offer guidance on parenting, conflict resolution and effective communication.
• Maintain confidential client records and track progress via virtual check-ins.
