Job summary

IQVIA is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist - External Data to define, set up, and ingest external data streams for clinical trials. The role involves coordinating with laboratories, imaging, EHRs, wearables, and other sources, ensuring compliant data transfer and accurate data mapping.

The position supports remote/home-based work across South Africa, collaborating with global teams to meet study timelines and regulatory standards. Excellent English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience managing data in support of clinical research.
• Experience with external data sources in a clinical study setting.
• Knowledge of SDTM and GCP/ICH guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Execute deliverables for Standardized External Data Streams.
• Assess external data collection requirements per protocol and plan setup activities to meet study start-up timelines.
• Liaise with data stakeholders to define data transfer, ingestion, and structure per data protection laws and templates.
• Create change requests for new data concepts or structures.
• Develop trial-specific Data Transfer Agreements documenting study requirements and methods.
• Ensure data transfer frequencies meet requirements for medical data review, monitoring, and reporting.
• Liaise with external data providers to ensure alignment and agreement of tsDTA.
• Translate medical and scientific concepts into data mapping guidance per data model.
• UAT of test data transfers for accuracy with Data Transfer Agreements.
• Implement data transfer mechanisms for external data streams into CDR with provider access.
• Monitor availability and accuracy of external data streams and resolve transfer issues.
