Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to join their fully remote geoscience team. The role focuses on identifying and evaluating new exploration opportunities in the Oil & Gas sector using advanced geological and geophysical data interpretation.

The ideal candidate has a Master's or PhD in Geology, 6+ years in exploration geology, and strong skills in basin analysis, structural geology, and sequence stratigraphy, along with proficiency in Petrel and GeoGraphix.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology or a related Earth Science field.
• Minimum 6 years of oil and gas exploration geology experience.
• Expertise in basin analysis, structural geology, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Proficiency with geological modeling and interpretation software (Petrel, GeoGraphix).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize large datasets into insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping, core analysis, and outcrop studies.
• Interpret seismic data, well logs, and geochemical data to delineate traps and reservoirs.
• Generate and rank exploration targets based on risk, prospectivity, and economics.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and management to build integrated models.
• Prepare geological reports, presentations, and prospect documentation for decisions.
• Support geological surveillance and data management across exploration areas.
