Job summary

Placements24 client, a leading environmental advocacy group, seeks a Remote Public Affairs Specialist to develop and execute strategies engaging policymakers and stakeholders from Mossel Bay and beyond.

You will monitor legislation, prepare briefs, represent the organization in meetings, and drive campaigns with a remote-first approach across time zones to advance public policy objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in public affairs, government relations, policy analysis, or advocacy.
• Demonstrated success in influencing policy or legislative outcomes.
• In-depth knowledge of political landscape and legislative processes.
• Excellent analytical, research, and strategic thinking skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute public affairs strategies to influence policy and legislation.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the mission.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.
• Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials.
