Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Public Affairs Manager to shape government engagement and strategic communications for a multinational client. This fully remote role supports East London, Eastern Cape operations while enabling work from anywhere.

You will lead policy advocacy, monitor regulatory developments, and advise executives on risks and opportunities, building strong relationships with senior officials and industry bodies.

Qualifications

• Masters or equivalent in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, IR, or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive public affairs or government relations experience.
• Deep understanding of South Africa's political and regulatory landscape.
• Proven ability to influence policy and manage crises.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive public affairs strategies.
• Monitor national and sub-national legislation and regulatory developments.
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials and regulators.
• Represent the company in meetings with government bodies and at forums.
• Advise senior leadership on public affairs risks and opportunities.
• Prepare policy positions, briefings, and submissions.
