Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Environmental Engineer to join the team, supporting initiatives that impact regions including Soweto, with the flexibility to work from anywhere. The role focuses on assessing environmental impacts, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations for civil engineering projects.

You will apply expertise in water quality, waste management, pollution control, and sustainable design while collaborating virtually

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with an environmental focus.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr Eng, Pr Sci Nat) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental engineering consulting or project management.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, impact assessment processes, and sustainable design.
• Proficiency in environmental modeling and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct EIAs and prepare associated reports and management plans.
• Develop strategies for pollution prevention, waste management, and resource conservation.
• Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national environmental legislation and standards.
• Monitor environmental conditions and provide technical guidance on remediation efforts.
• Collaborate virtually with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Research and apply innovative environmental engineering solutions to project challenges.
