Placements24 is seeking an Endpoint Security Specialist to join its cybersecurity team in Soweto. You will deploy and manage endpoint security solutions across laptops, desktops, and mobile devices, respond to incidents, and strengthen protection against malware and intrusions.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of IT security experience with hands-on EDR tools such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Defender for Endpoint, plus strong OS knowledge across Windows, macOS and Linux.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years IT security experience focused on endpoints.
• Hands-on with EDR solutions such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne or Defender for Endpoint.
• Solid understanding of OS security and endpoint vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and maintain endpoint security solutions (AV, EDR, host-based firewalls).
• Monitor alerts and investigate potential threats or compromises.
• Develop and enforce endpoint security policies and configurations.

About the Role

You will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing endpoint security solutions, as well as responding to endpoint-related security incidents. Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, EDR, and host-based firewalls.
• Monitor endpoint security alerts and investigate potential threats and compromises.

• Respond to and remediate endpoint security incidents, including malware infections and unauthorized access attempts.
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and security hardening of endpoint devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on endpoint security technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint).
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common endpoint vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of network security principles and common attack vectors.
