Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Employment Lawyer to provide expert guidance on all facets of South African employment law. This fully remote role offers flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa, advising on contracts, disciplinaries, retrenchments, BCEA, LRA, and EEA matters.

The ideal candidate will have Admitted Attorney status with 5+ years in employment law, a deep understanding of SA labor legislation, and proven ability to deliver strategic, practical advice

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of employment law practice.
• Strong knowledge of South African labor legislation.
• Proven experience advising on complex disputes and negotiations.
• Excellent drafting of contracts, policies and legal documents.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on all employment law matters, including hiring, termination, and employee relations.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures in line with current legislation.
• Advise on and manage disciplinary inquiries, grievance procedures, and CCMA/Bargaining Council disputes.
• Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, and EEA.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on emerging employment law issues.
• Represent the company in labor court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution forums.
• Develop and deliver training programs on employment law compliance for HR and management.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Remote Employment Lawyer to provide expert legal guidance on all facets of South African employment law. This is a fully remote position, offering significant flexibility and the opportunity to work from your preferred location in South Africa. You will be responsible for advising the company on employment contracts, disciplinary processes, retrenchments, compliance with BCEA, LRA, and EEA, and resolving complex labor disputes. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of employment legislation and a proven ability to provide strategic, practical advice in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on all employment law matters, including hiring, termination, and employee relations.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures in line with current legislation.
• Advise on and manage disciplinary inquiries, grievance procedures, and CCMA/Bargaining Council disputes.
• Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and Employment Equity Act.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on emerging employment law issues.

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in employment law.
