Placements24 seeks a dedicated Remote Employment Lawyer to manage all aspects of SA employment law for its clients, operating fully remotely from Cape Town. Advise HR and management on policy development, disputes, and compliance with Labour Relations Act, BCEA, and EEA.

Draft and review contracts and policies; represent clients in CCMA and Labour Court; provide strategic guidance on workforce planning and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years in employment law.
• Strong knowledge of SA Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EEA.
• Experience representing clients in CCMA and Labour Court.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Employment Lawyer to manage all aspects of employment law for their organization, operating entirely remotely from Cape Town . This role is crucial for ensuring fair labor practices, managing employee relations, and navigating the complexities of South African labor legislation. You will be the primary point of contact for employment-related legal queries, advising HR and management on policy development, dispute resolution, and compliance. This is an ideal opportunity for a legal professional who excels in an independent, remote setting and possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies of employment law.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on all employment-related matters, including hiring, termination, disciplinary processes, and grievances.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act and other relevant legislation.
• Represent the company in conciliation and arbitration proceedings at the CCMA and relevant bargaining councils.
• Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational restructuring, and change management initiatives.
• Conduct internal investigations into allegations of misconduct or harassment.
• Stay abreast of changes in employment law and advise on proactive risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in employment law .
• Thorough understanding of the South African Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EEA, and related legislation.
• Demonstrated experience in representing clients in the CCMA and Labour Court.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and maintain confidentiality in a remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
