Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Design and Development Engineer for a fully remote role in the mining technology sector. You will lead the conception, design, and prototyping of advanced electrical systems, delivering robust, testable hardware from concept to product.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical design, strong PCB/schematic skills, MCU and power electronics knowledge, and a track record of working effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electrical design and product development.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Eagle, KiCad).
• Strong analog and digital circuit knowledge, MCUs and power electronics.
• Experience with testing/measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, meters, logic analyzers).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop novel electrical systems and embedded solutions.
• Create schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams for new products.
• Prototype, test, and validate electrical designs for performance and safety.
• Troubleshoot circuits and identify root causes of failures.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and product teams in a remote setting.
• Research and evaluate new components for integration into designs.
• Prepare design specs, test reports, and user manuals.
• Contribute to improving existing electrical designs and products.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables.
• Stay updated with advancements in mining-focused electrical engineering.
