Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our remote team, supporting operations primarily in the Richards Bay area and surrounding regions.

You will develop, implement, and oversee health, safety, and environmental programs; conduct remote risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations; and provide strategic guidance to maintain compliance and a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in OHS/Environmental/Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in EHS management with remote oversight.
• NEBOSH, CSP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Expert knowledge of EHS regulations, risk management and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies and procedures for all operations.
• Conduct remote risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with national and international EHS legislation.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
• Monitor environmental impact and promote sustainable practices.
• Collaborate with management to promote a proactive safety culture.
