Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote HSE Manager to lead Health, Safety, and Environment initiatives for Oil & Gas operations. This role offers remote work with oversight across projects in the Eastern Cape and beyond.

You will develop and enforce HSE policies, conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, and promote a strong safety culture among all personnel, wherever they are based. A strategic thinker with ISO 14001/45001 knowledge is ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• 10+ years in HSE management, Oil & Gas experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 and HSE standards.
• Strong leadership and remote management skills.
• Ability to develop and implement risk management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies and procedures for Oil & Gas operations.
• Conduct regular HSE audits and site inspections (virtual and occasional on-site).
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses with CAPA actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
• Monitor environmental impact and ensure regulatory compliance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote HSE Manager to lead their Health, Safety, and Environment initiatives for Oil & Gas operations. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while maintaining critical oversight of safety protocols and environmental compliance across various projects. You will be instrumental in developing and enforcing HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture among all personnel, regardless of their physical location. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of HSE best practices in the Eastern Cape and beyond, ensuring operational integrity and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive HSE policies and procedures for Oil & Gas operations.
• Conduct regular HSE audits and site inspections (virtual and occasional on-site as needed) to ensure compliance.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors.
• Monitor environmental impact and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management, with significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective risk management strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and remote team management skills.
