Job summary

Placements24 seeks a skilled Drilling Fluids Engineer to join a globally distributed team. This remote role focuses on operations in Centurion and surrounding regions within the Oil & Gas sector, ensuring safe, efficient drilling through fluid program design and optimization.

You will design and monitor drilling fluid systems, analyze performance data, and provide remote technical support while coordinating with on-site operations, suppliers, and safety teams to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical) or related field.
Minimum 6 years of drilling fluids engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and additives.
Experience with drilling fluid simulation and reporting software.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to specific well objectives and geological conditions.
Monitor fluid properties, analyze performance data, and recommend adjustments to maintain wellbore stability and drilling efficiency.
Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid-related issues encountered during operations.
Oversee the procurement, inventory, and logistics of drilling fluid additives and equipment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards related to drilling fluid management.
