Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Drilling Fluids Engineer to join a remote-first team supporting global drilling operations. You will design, implement and manage drilling fluid programs, provide expert technical support, and troubleshoot challenges encountered on rig sites worldwide.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Chemistry with at least 7 years of hands-on experience, strong knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology and additives, and autonomy to work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry or related scientific discipline.
• 7+ years hands-on experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer, preferably in complex well environments.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and additives.
• Familiarity with solids control equipment and techniques.
• Strong understanding of drilling hydraulics and wellbore stability.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage drilling fluid programs tailored to well objectives and conditions.
• Oversee drilling fluid system performance on location to meet hydraulics and safety requirements.
• Conduct lab testing and analysis of drilling fluid properties for QC and optimization.
• Provide on-call technical support and troubleshooting for drilling fluid issues.
• Manage inventory and logistics for drilling fluid chemicals and equipment.
• Develop and deliver training on drilling fluid best practices to crews and staff.
