Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Remote Drilling Fluids Engineer to provide expert support for drilling operations in the Paarl region, Western Cape, South Africa. You will design, monitor, and optimise drilling fluid programs from a fully remote location, ensuring optimal wellbore conditions and drilling efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering and at least 5 years of drilling fluids experience, with strong knowledge of rheology, solids

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Drilling Fluids Engineer in Oil & Gas.
• Strong knowledge of drilling fluid chemistry, rheology, and solids control.
• Experience with water-based, oil-based, and synthetic-based drilling fluids.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize drilling fluid systems based on geological conditions and well objectives.
• Monitor drilling fluid properties and performance, providing recommendations for adjustments.
• Troubleshoot downhole problems related to drilling fluids, such as lost circulation and formation damage.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers and mud companies to ensure effective fluid management.
