Job summary

Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Remote Drilling Engineer to design, plan, and execute safe, cost-effective drilling programs across remote locations. You will select equipment, develop drilling plans, and manage risks while supporting offshore and unconventional projects from any location.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, 7+ years of drilling engineering experience, and strong remote collaboration and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years experience in drilling engineering including offshore/unconventional work.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software and interpretation of drilling data.
• Strong understanding of drilling fluids, well control and completion technologies.
• Excellent project management and remote communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan drilling programs, including casing/cementing strategies, mud programs, and directional surveys.
• Select drilling equipment and technologies to optimize safety and efficiency.
• Oversee and monitor drilling operations remotely, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for drilling hazards.
• Manage drilling contractor performance and adherence to contracts.
• Analyze drilling performance data and implement improvements for future operations.
