Placements24 is seeking a proactive Remote Information Security Analyst to join a globally distributed team supporting the Soweto region. You will monitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats in real time and protect digital assets from home.

This role emphasizes vigilance, incident analysis, vulnerability scanning, and policy development. You will work from a remote home office, collaborating with senior analysts to strengthen the organization's security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Familiarity with security monitoring tools, threat intelligence concepts, and incident response frameworks.
• Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common cybersecurity threats.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR tools.
• Investigate potential security incidents, analyze scope and impact, document findings.
• Perform regular vulnerability scanning and assist in remediation prioritization.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support the incident response process by gathering data and assisting senior analysts.
• Promote security awareness and best practices among remote employees.
