Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leading international software development company, is seeking an experienced and highly organized Remote Contracts Manager to oversee their contract lifecycle management. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while playing a critical role in ensuring the legal and commercial integrity of our client's agreements. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide array of contracts, including software licenses, service agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements. This role requires a meticulous approach to detail, a strong understanding of contract law, and exceptional negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-disciplined, and possess excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners globally. As a remote-first role, strong time management and virtual collaboration skills are essential for success in this demanding position.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate software license agreements, professional services agreements, SaaS agreements, NDAs, and other commercial contracts.
• Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including execution, amendment, renewal, and termination.
• Ensure all contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and risk management guidelines.
• Collaborate with sales, procurement, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment on contract terms and conditions.
• Maintain a centralized and organized repository of all contracts, ensuring easy accessibility and version control.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks, providing proactive advice to stakeholders.
• Develop and implement best practices for contract management and negotiation.
• Liaise with external counsel on complex contractual matters when necessary.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract-related matters.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A legal background or paralegal qualification is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in contract management, negotiation, and drafting, preferably within the technology sector.
• In-depth knowledge of contract law, including common law principles and relevant South African legislation.
• Proven experience managing complex international contracts.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Experience working remotely with cross-functional teams.
