Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Legal Advisor specializing in Compliance to join a remote-first legal team. You will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs, advise on regulatory changes, and mitigate legal risks across operations including Vereeniging.

The role requires an LLB or related qualification, admission as Attorney or Advocate with 5+ years in corporate compliance, and strong knowledge of South African corporate law.

Qualifications

• LLB or equivalent legal qualification required.
• Admitted as Attorney or Advocate with ≥5 years in corporate compliance.
• Strong knowledge of SA corporate law and regulations.
• Experience developing compliance frameworks and risk assessments.
• Ability to work remotely and manage independent projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance programs and policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and advise on impacts.
• Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate breaches and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training on compliance and ethics.
