About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing international technology firm, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join their fully remote global team. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent worldwide. You will be responsible for market analysis, salary benchmarking, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations across various jurisdictions, including South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of C&B best practices, and excellent communication abilities suited for a remote, global environment. This is a prime opportunity to shape the total rewards strategy of a dynamic company from anywhere in South Africa , with this role serving the broader operations from Upington, Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and administer comprehensive compensation and benefits programs.
• Conduct market research and salary benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay structures.
• Analyze compensation data and develop salary bands and frameworks.
• Manage employee benefits enrollment, administration, and vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant compensation and benefits regulations, including South African labor law.
• Develop communication materials to effectively explain C&B programs to employees and managers.
• Support annual salary review processes and bonus program administration.
• Provide guidance and expertise on compensation and benefits-related matters.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on total rewards strategy.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies in C&B programs.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master’s degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits management.
• Proven experience in salary benchmarking, job evaluation, and benefits administration.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and HRIS systems.
• In-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits principles and South African employment law.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Experience with global compensation and benefits programs is a plus.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience working remotely and managing diverse, international stakeholders is highly valued.
