Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Community Mobilization Officer to support initiatives within and around Soweto from a remote base. You will engage local communities, build trust, and mobilize residents to participate in programs, fostering ownership and responsive interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Community Development, Sociology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in community mobilization, outreach, or participatory development work.
• Demonstrated ability to engage diverse community groups and build rapport.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community mobilization strategies to foster participation and ownership.
• Conduct outreach activities to engage diverse community groups and build relationships.
• Facilitate community meetings, workshops, and discussions to identify needs and co-create solutions.
• Act as liaison between the organization and the community with clear communication.
• Mobilize community members to participate in program activities, training, and volunteering.
• Monitor and report on engagement levels, feedback, and progress toward mobilization goals.
