Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Community Engagement Officer to foster relationships across Upington and the Northern Cape. You will design outreach plans, coordinate events, and promote services to diverse communities.

This role offers remote work flexibility and requires strong communication, collaboration with local partners, and a passion for social impact. You will help connect residents with programs and support networks, expanding the organization's reach.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Social Work, Community Development, or related field.
• Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or similar role.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build rapport with diverse community groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies and outreach plans.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and residents.
• Organize and facilitate community events, workshops, and information sessions.
• Represent the organization at community meetings and forums.
• Communicate information about services and programs to diverse audiences.
• Identify community needs and relay insights to improve programs.
• Collaborate with internal teams for coordinated outreach.
• Manage social media and other channels to boost visibility.
• Support development of partnerships with local stakeholders.
