Placements24 is seeking an experienced Commercial Pilot for a fully remote role in the aviation sector. The successful candidate will conduct remote flight planning, monitor operations, and provide real-time guidance to flight crews from a home office in South Africa.

Applicants must hold an ATPL or CPL with type ratings, have 5+ years of flight experience, and be proficient with glass cockpit systems and FMS.

Qualifications

• ATPL or CPL with relevant type ratings.
• Minimum 5 years of flight experience as Captain or FO.
• Experience with glass cockpit aircraft and FMS.
• Strong weather, navigation, and ATC knowledge.
• Proven ability to make sound decisions remotely.
• Proficiency with simulation and communications software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Reliable internet and dedicated remote workspace.
• Authorized to work in South Africa and able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive flight planning, including route analysis, weather assessment, and fuel calculations using FMS.
• Monitor real-time flight progress and provide guidance to flight crews remotely.
• Analyze flight data to identify improvements and cost efficiencies.
• Ensure adherence to international regulations from a remote location.
• Serve as primary contact for flight crews during critical phases.
• Collaborate with dispatch, ATC, and ground ops to manage schedules.
• Utilize advanced simulation tools for training and scenario planning.
• Maintain logs of all remote operational activities and communications.
• Stay updated on aviation tech and regulatory changes; participate in virtual meetings.
