Placements24 is seeking a Remote Lead Software Engineer to architect and guide a team building next-generation cloud infrastructure. The role emphasizes distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native technologies, with leadership responsibilities in a fully remote setting.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in software development, 3+ in lead roles, and deep cloud expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP) along with Go, Python, Java, or C++. Strong communication and SRE collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior technical role.
• Extensive experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or C++, and experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD, Terraform, and monitoring tools.
• Proven ability to lead a technical team in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure services.
• Architect robust microservices and distributed systems using modern cloud-native technologies.
• Mentor and guide a team of software engineers, promoting technical excellence and collaboration.
• Define and implement best practices for coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product managers, SREs, and other teams to define system requirements and roadmaps.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and technical debt.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies and patterns for the cloud platform.
• Ensure security, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the infrastructure.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural planning sessions.
• Contribute to on-call rotations for production systems.
